Signs and symptoms of week 41 pregnancy

Signs and symptoms of week 41 pregnancy

Out of the 9 months of pregnancy, the last few weeks are the most trying weeks for not just the mother and the fetus, but for the entire family looking after the pregnant mother. It is crucial that during the penultimate few weeks, the mother and the baby are taken utmost care of. It is better if at the commencement of the pregnancy itself, the couple enrolls for classes that teach one about childbirth, pre and post natal care so that the last few weeks of pregnancy and the birth of the baby is a smooth ride, without any health complications for the mother or the child.

At the 41st week, a couple must consider its time of glory to have already arrived. At this stage, it is extremely crucial to educate oneself and all those close to the mother about the much anticipated as well as dreaded term, labor.  Labor has three stages- early, active and a period of transition. The entire process taking these three constituent parts together is a rather long one, and could range between 12 and 20 hours. The average duration of labor for a woman who is bearing her first child is usually around 15 hours.

The first stage, that is the early labor is the longest phase and can range from a few hours to even a few days. Regular contractions take place in early labor. However one must note that these contractions are not the same as the contractions the mother experiences during the earlier stages of pregnancy, which were the Braxton Hicks contractions. The contractions that mark the onset of early labor actually serve to make the mother’s cervix larger and more accommodative to prepare for the delivery of the baby. One need not panic during this phase and there is no need to even rush the mother to the hospital. However, it is advisable to keep drinking water throughout the labor, during all three stages.

The next stage in labor is marked by active labor and this lasts between 3 and 4 hours. This phase is much more active than the previous phase and the cervix not just contracts, but it keeps dilating till the water breaks. This is the sign that the doctor needs to be informed and the mother needs to be shifted to the hospital. However, panic must not set in and the mother must at all times be accompanied with somebody to comfort her. It is extremely reassuring for an expectant mother to have her husband by her side when she is about to deliver her baby, especially is it is the couple’s first child.

Following this is the transition period and this is arguably the most serious phase in the delivery of the child. Them other’s cervix at this stage is completely dilated and because of the intensity of contractions taking place, she may have to endure a lot of pain. At this stage, her husband should try to encourage and soothe her as much as possible. The mother must take deep breaths and try to relax as far as she can. Stress will only complicate the baby’s delivery. In the second sub-stage of the period of transition, her pain will increase and she will be required to start pushing now. In the third and final sub-stage, her contractions will intensify and continue for half an hour and the mother will be required to keep pushing the baby and the placenta out, till the child finally arrives and she is a proud mother!

Tips For Enduring The Trials Of Pregnancy

Tips For Enduring The Trials Of Pregnancy

Pregnancy is a stage of being a mother. This is the stage when your baby develops his or her physical features until such time when your baby enters a new life.

There are stages of pregnancy which start from the moment your doctor declares that you are positive until the day that you will be having your labor. It is possible to know if you are with child through a pregnancy test normally performed when you missed your period. Usually, the pregnancy lasts for about 40 weeks.

Swelling of breasts, darkening of nipples and nausea are some of the signs that you are pregnant. Once you get pregnant, you will experience hormonal changes that would greatly affect your attitude and fashion. This is because of the development stages of the baby inside your body. There are times when you feel depressed, easily exhausted, and irritated.

As soon as you reach your 16th to 20th week of pregnancy, you can feel the movement of the baby. At this stage, the mother will feel a lot better. This is the period where both parents are motivated to plan ahead until the baby is born.

As the last 3 months of pregnancy commence, physical changes will take place. And because the baby continues to grow rapidly and develop its physical features, your tummy will expand to provide enough room for him or her. However, it may lead to discomfort for the mother. It is also at this stage that carrying the baby’s weight can be exhausting and may lead to the swelling of your feet and hands, as well. It helps to be very careful of oneself and have sufficient rest.

It can be common for the doctors or midwives to discuss to you about undergoing labor induction procedures. This may sound great since you want to end the pressure and hardships of being pregnant. Labor inductions have been widespread over the years and have even been accepted as a standard procedure in deliveries. It is important to remember that once the process of induction begins there can be no turning back. It is irreversible until the baby is born. If the induction fails for some reasons, caesarean section is required.

One of the most common induction methods being used these days is the stripping and sweeping of the membranes. This method is done during vaginal examinations or during the labor period. In this process, the doctor inserts his finger inside just about the opening of the cervix and tries to detach the amniotic sac away from the uterus. This procedure is not aimed to break the water but to quicken the local prostaglandin release which leads to the ripening of the cervical. Sometimes this method should be done 3 or more times before actual labor begins.

With the widespread use of the membrane stripping and sweeping by many medical practitioners, majority of the public is concerned about the efficiency and safety of this method in inducing labor. With this concern, a study was conducted by the Cochrane Database Systematic Review. They have conducted a series of tests to evaluate whether this method really helps to shorten pregnancy period, avoid cesarean procedure and if it does not contribute to any side effects to the patient. Based on the results of the clinical tests, the method of membrane stripping is relatively safe and does not cause any infections to mothers. In addition, positive results shows that by using the method, it greatly reduces the risk of over due pregnancies.

However, the study also proves that women who undergo the procedure have tendencies of experiencing bleeding and irregular contractions compared to women who did not undergo the treatment. Though the procedure proves that it is a safe method of labor induction, it should only be performed when there are significant medical reasons. It should not be abused just for personal convenience and any other grounds.

Nine months of waiting for the little baby can be a tough experience for the mother. When it is due for the baby to come out, it can be another challenging feeling for parents. This too is one of the most difficult stages of pregnancy because the mother needs to undergo hours of labor. Pregnancy is a gift from God. Most couples are so excited for the time that they can finally see the baby and hold him or her in their arms.

The Stages Of Pregnancy – An Amazing Journey

The Stages Of Pregnancy – An Amazing Journey

The nine months of pregnancy are a miraculous event. During this relatively short time, your baby goes from a fertilized egg to a fully formed newborn. The changes that take place over these nine months are astounding. By the end of the first month, the tiny heart has formed and is beating. The major organs and systems of the body have developed by the end of the first trimester.

This is a critical time in your baby’s development. It’s important that you take good care of yourself during this time. Eat nutritious foods and drink plenty of fluids. Take any vitamins or extra iron recommended by your health care provider. Avoid any substances which can harm the baby. These include smoke, alcohol and drugs. Don’t take any medication without your doctor’s approval.

The [tag-tec]baby[/tag-tec] continues to change rapidly during the second trimester. You will get to hear his heartbeat and see him on the [tag-ice]ultrasound[/tag-ice]. By this time, the gender can be seen clearly in many cases. Your baby is a fully formed little one at the end of this trimester. The lungs are the last organ to develop enough to sustain life outside the womb. During the third trimester, the lungs finish developing. Your baby puts on weight and body fat steadily through this trimester.

Your body will go through many changes over the course of your [tag-cat]pregnancy[/tag-cat] as well. In the early months, you may experience discomfort from morning sickness. This is a common symptom and is usually not serious. Learn some methods of dealing with this, such as getting up slowly in the morning, eating crackers before you get up or wearing wrist bands made for sea sickness. Preggie pops are lollipops that are sold to ease the symptoms of morning sickness.

The first trimester is a time of rapidly changing hormones in your body. This change causes fatigue in most women. Be sure to get enough rest. You will find you need more sleep than before you got pregnant. The best way to deal with fatigue is to get more sleep. Go to bed earlier at night. If possible, take a nap during the day.

Most women feel their best during the second trimester. Morning sickness has gotten better for the majority of pregnant mothers. The fatigue you felt in the first trimester has improved as well. Pregnant women report feeling more energy and you will begin to feel pregnant. Some couples take a final vacation as a couple during this trimester. By the third trimester, you will be uncomfortable and won’t want to travel. As you get farther into the third trimester, travel will be restricted.

The third trimester brings more discomfort. The baby is putting on weight at a rapid rate. Toward the end of this trimester, the baby is gaining a half a pound in body weight every week. This increased weight leads to several discomforts. The baby is pushing up on your stomach and lungs. This makes breathing difficult and you may be short of breath. The pressure of the baby on the stomach causes heartburn and indigestion.

The uterus is getting very crowded now and your baby is also pushing down. This can cause a variety of problems such as hemorrhoids, constipation and the need to urinate frequently. You may feel pressure low in the abdomen as the baby moves down into position for birth. When this happens, you will find that the shortness of breath improves. This is called lightening, but don’t count on going into labor right away. This can happen weeks before the baby arrives.

At the end of the third trimester, it’s time for the big day. You will finally get to meet your new baby. As the day approaches, you will feel excited. It’s normal to feel anxious and nervous as well. Continue to read, practice breathing exercises and prepare for the delivery. Soon you will be holding your precious bundle and the discomforts of the past nine months will be a memory.

Understanding the Different Stages of Pregnancy

Understanding the Different Stages of Pregnancy

Pregnancy can be a puzzling time for the newly expectant dad. As your spouse experiences a hormonal rollercoaster, her body is likely to undergo some very surprising changes.

You will probably have heard the obstetrician refer to the term ‘trimester’. The nine months of pregnancy are divided into three trimesters. These mark important stages in the development of the fetus. Knowing about the trimesters will help you to understand your baby’s development better and also serve to demystify pregnancy for you.

First Trimester

The baby: This stage of pregnancy is marked by the speedy development of your baby. The first twelve weeks will see your baby grow to about three inches and have many of its organs already functioning – a lot when you consider that it all began with the fusion of two cells at the time of conception.

The mom: The frenzied discharge of hormones during the early months of pregnancy may be difficult for your spouse to handle. Nausea and an aversion to food items may be present. She will also complain of fatigue during this stage of pregnancy, as the growing baby makes its demands felt on her body. A healthy diet and a multivitamin prescribed by her obstetrician may help her cope with this.

Second Trimester

The baby: Your baby will continue to grow and develop normal functions. In fact, through these three months, your baby will grow to weigh two and a half to three pounds and measure fourteen inches. By the end of this trimester your baby, if it is born prematurely, will have matured enough to stand a good chance of surviving with appropriate medical care.

The mom: Your spouse’s belly will expand to accommodate the baby’s rapid growth. Thankfully, the distress caused by hormonal changes, such as nausea, will now start subsiding and allow her to enjoy the stages of pregnancy.

Third Trimester

The baby: During this last stage of pregnancy, the baby’s organs will become ready to support the baby once it is out of the womb. The baby will grow to weigh around seven pounds and measure twenty inches by the time it is born.

The mom: Carrying the extra weight will be uncomfortable as your spouse may find it difficult to move around. Swelling on the hands and feet are common symptoms during the third pregnancy trimester.

The third trimester of pregnancy culminates in labor, which marks the beginning of the process of childbirth. Here are some commonly accepted natural labor inducer.

The Truth About Pregnant Women and Cats

One of the essential aspects of this website, is to finde good quality information regarding get pregnant. Something that you simply will enjoy reading, watching or listening to and will refer to family, colleagues, close family and others. Today, I\\\’ve ran across a good article that discusses pregnancy from a different light. You must read over this informative article and even let me know what you think. Today’s post is about how to get pregnant and you\\\’ll find the full post written below for convenience:

Are you trying to get pregnant quickly? Do you Want to increase your chances? Click here for more information.

During the entire 9 months of pregnancy, expectant mothers receive a constant influx of information regarding what they should and shouldn’t do in order to protect and care for their unborn child. They keep lists of what they can and cannot eat. They avoid caffeinated beverages, and abstain from the majority of pharmaceuticals. They regularly elevate their legs, rearrange their entire schedules around doctor appointments, and even overly concern themselves with the temperature of their bath water. In the midst of all these concerns arises the question regarding cats. Should they keep their beloved feline? Should they avoid cats in general?

Rumors abound when it comes to cats and babies, and just about everyone you meet has an opinion. However, in order to make an informed decision regarding pregnancy and cats, one must set aside old wives’ tales and stick to the actual facts. What are the dangers associated with having both a pregnant woman and a cat in the same living space?

The primary risks involve potential parasitic infections that may harm the unborn baby. The most common concern is the chance that the expectant mother may contract a toxoplasmosis infection. A parasitic organism by the name of Toxoplasma gondii is responsible for the problem. This organism can cause serious harm to a developing fetus during its first trimester (such as congenital defects). Cats may come in contact with these toxoplasmosis-causing parasites if they ingest wildlife that has already been contaminated with the parasites. The T. gondii parasite relies upon the cat for its life cycle. It can live quite comfortably in a cat’s digestive tract, passing on its eggs through the cat’s feces.

It important to understand that the only way a cat can pass on the parasitic organisms is through its feces. In order to become infected, a pregnant woman must swallow a parasite or parasite egg.

For this reason, it is strongly recommended that an expectant mother not handle cat litter. If she must do so, she should wear rubber gloves and follow extra hygiene precautions. Cat feces must be incinerated or flushed daily. To minimize risk of infection, it is essential that the cat be kept away from kitchen counters and tabletops. Pregnant women should also wash their hands after spending time with their pet cat. Cats should also be taken to their local veterinarian to make sure that their worming and vaccination schedules are up to date.

Interestingly enough, cats are not the sole source of toxoplasmosis. Eating either undercooked meat, or foods grown in soil contaminated with the parasites, also places pregnant women at risk. For this reason, it is recommended that pregnant women thoroughly wash all fruits and vegetables, and not drink unpasteurized milk. As a further precaution, pregnant women should wear gloves when gardening.

Of course, proper precautions must be taken, but it is possible for both cats and pregnant women to coexist safely in the same home.
